I was showing the wife how much better the new iPhone took pictures compared to her iPhone 4 (her 5 is coming next week) and I noticed after i took side by side pictures then looked at them side by side the 4 filled the screen (though looked horrible) but the iPhone 5 had black bars at the top and bottom and the actual picture itself vertically was actually smaller then the iPhone 4???

Anyone have this issue? Why is this?

Thanks so much for the feedback.

Pinch your wife's photo out to show the full picture.

Because your pictures aren't in 16:9 natively I believe they are 3:2. To make it 16:9 you actually loose some of the resolution of the picture. No photo wiz here so correct me if I'm wrong.

Photos are 4:3.

On the old iPhone, they appear slightly zoomed in by default to give the appearance of full screen.

Doing this on an iPhone 5 would look awful, so they don't.

So the pictures are still the same size as before then and the black bars at the top and bottom are the way it suppose to be on the new iPhone 5 correct?

Thanks so more for letting me knows this ... I feel better now ... New stuff bugs me when I don;t know whats going on :p
