The colour is very close, a lot closer than it was on the Graphite SS (talking about the polished connector, and polished sides).
I see no reason to get the new “slate” band.
Because the band is brushed, it was always reflecting a lighter colour than the space black SS in daylight.

Agreed. I posted for the benefit of those who might already have an old space gray link bracelet or find a deal on a good condition used one. If buying new, then nothing wrong with going for the new Slate color.
Yes, and that texture also made it work so very well with the burshed texture titanium space black Edition models. That was my favorite, but time marches on.
Personally I use the link bracelet when I want to be a bit more dressy, and sport bands / sport loops for more everyday stuff.
Excellent video, really shows the true color of the Titanium Slate which is decidedly darker than the dark toned Stainless Steel variants in previous models. This is a good thing for those who love the look of the Aluminum Jet Black, but prefer the durability of the sapphire glass on the titanium models.
