pictures taken on samsung phone, how to down load to mbp ?

Here is a scenario taking pictures from samsung phone, using SD card and insert to mbp mid 2010 model, does not show up on iphoto , what format to be done on mbp prior to take pictures from camera for SD card ?

I think you can still import to iPhoto but if you can't locate the photos on the card by browsing the card through Finder, you can use something called SyncMate. That will let you set up an import to iPhoto rule.
