Pictures taken with iPhone don't appear in iPhoto in chronological order

when I'm syncing pictures taken with the iPhone with iPhoto, they are all mixed up in an apparently random way, not the time order in which they were taken. Anybody knows help?

oops, there was a tipo in my original post which is now corrected (I had written iTunes instead of iPhoto).
