Pictures - that are not mine - showing up on camera roll

pictures that were not taken by my mom (ever) - are showing up on my mom and daughters iPhone's. We do not know the people nor can i get any info on the photos other than dimensions. Anyone else having this issue? and No, she didn't accidentally copy one from the web and save to the phone. both photo's mysteriously appeared today.

Has the relevant iTunes accounts ever been shared with other people? Has anyone ever shared a photos treat with this account? Has your mother sold an iOS device previously?
