I was a big fan of the original BookBook case from TwelveSouth, so was really disappointed with their iPhone 5/5s case. The leather was plasticky, there was glue all over the place and the frame was awful!
I decided to get a Piel Frama case and i have to be honest, I’m blown away. The leather is soft to the touch. It’s a really nice slim design and the Microsuction mount is absolutely genius.
The first thing you notice is the luxurious packaging.
Really felt like I’d bought a premium product
It’s soft calf leather on the outside and even softer suede on the inside. The Microsuction pad sticks firmly to the iPhone and doesnt leave any residue.
If you’re a bit OCD like me it can get really fiddly to get the iPhone on in just the right position. But once it’s on it’s pretty safe and after a few hours of stress testing it I feel comfortable with it. Protection wise, i’d say it’s minimal on the outside edges. Really depends. You can stick the phone so it’s further into the case giving more protection.
It just won’t fall!!
Plus it has a couple of very discreet magnets in the lid which are pretty weak for magnets but just the right strength to hold the lid flat.
As a bonus, i had to order a wallet and Piel Frama were kind enough to send me two! They both come in the very nice packaging and made of the same soft leather. The one they gifted to me even came wrapped in shiny wrapping paper!
Overall I’m absolutely blinded by the quality of this case. It’s slim, extremely elegant and really feels like a premium product.
I forgot mention I paid 50 Euros for the case and 50 Euros for the Wallet. The second wallet they gave is worth 45 Euros. That’s really cheap when you consider the Bookbook case costs £50 here
