I recently upgraded to gigabit internet service. I have a Mac Mini (Late 2012) and a Dell laptop (running Windows 7) that are both connected to the same switch in my house. I am consistently getting a ping of 30-31ms on my Mac, and get 6ms on my Dell laptop. Speediest on my Mac Mini runs around 650-750mbps down and 900mbs up. On the Dell laptop, I get 940mbps up and down. Any ideas why my Mac is performing so poorly in comparison, and what I might do to try and improve it? The ping is the thing that bothers me the most.
