Hi all,
Conference of over 200 iPads and we'd like to be able to broadcast lunch times or messages to all delegates. Would we be able to do this with Ping? For example, as lunch is about to start a message gets broadcast to all members on their iPads.

I've heard that Ping can only be used for checking your friends iTunes buys and likes. Is this correct? Does anyone have any other solution / idea?

Regards,
Sophia

Thanks for feedback - email is an option, however is there a more fun way that we can broadcast?

Consider using one of the IM clients or chat clients for the iPad if everyone will have an iDevice...

We did this with a Twitter account created for a specific event.

All of our notices were sent as tweets...

We included instructions on how to create a Twitter account and to follow the conference in the pre-conference materials, as well as how to install clients on various phones and other platforms.

It was very well received.
