Hey everyone!

It's been a while since we last spoke on the MacRumours forums and I thought this would be a perfect time to start an official thread. Feel free to ask any questions, post up your Ping ID and/or enjoy a pleasant conversation about our apps.

PingChat!: We are currently in the midst of launching our new discovery feature w/ a ton of bug fixes and emoticons for all. :D

TextNow: We are working on something pretty massive, can't say much about it yet though :)

Don't hesitate to post criticism/concerns because as a company we can only grow and improve.

PingChat

Hey Enflick

I have two vital questions for you.

1) How do I add more contacts to a group conversation?

2) why isn't there an option to enlarge contact photos to view?

and, lastly what else can we expect in future updates?

@Neverbepeace What do you mean?
@PBF TextNow is for sending SMS messages to any cell phone - Ping is an IM client between PingChat! phones.
@OutSpoken This is not yet available. We will be allowing you to enlarge contact pictures soon:) Future updates include discovery of friends and a few secret features!

Hi enflick,

Just to clarify, what's not yet available? The Ability to add more contacts to an already started group convo?

Another cool feature would be universal emotioncons/smileys for cross platforms. I hope thats one of the secret features.

Questions:

Are you planning the removal of ads for those of us who purchase the pay version of both ping chat & ping chat 2? (My understanding is that the program is now free, but with ads, and we got rolled into it even though we paid?)

Are you planning to to allow multiple devices? You can only use your username on one device currently.

Thanks for any clarification.

good app but doesnt compare to whatsapp.

Few things you need to consider:

1) be able to know when your contacts are online and when they were last online. (whatsapp does this very well).

2) have a paid option like you used to for 59p to get rid of the ads (they are VERY annoying).

3) make it look a lot cleaner

4) change the icons at the bottom, to me its not clear what they actually mean until you press one (granted apart from the settings icon).

5) reimburse those who paid for the app a while ago before you took the app down and released this version with ads - thats pretty scandalous if you ask me.

overall a good app but i will stick to whatsapp for now!

Some times calls get dropped, or doesn't call out. Also, the app crashes a bunch of times :(

Set it up like whatsapp where connectivity is almost instant and you can see when users were last on. This app has potential but has many short comings.

+1 more reason:

make it possible to send voice notes between different devices. Over the weekend my friend who has a blackberry was not able to get my voice note.

Whatsapp does this by the way ;).

I know that by default the lack of a password prevents this but I'd like a way to tie my account to both my iPod Touch and iPad - depending on whichever I have with me at a given time.

Thanks

Is there a way to make TextNow app the default app so when you select a text message from contact it opens TextNow instead of chat app?

Computer version??

Hi PingChat! Team... Wondering here if there are any plans of creating a "computer" version so I can ping my buddies from my desk?

Thank you!
