Floyd founder Wright dies at 65

Pink Floyd keyboard player and founder member Richard Wright has died at the age of 65 after battling cancer, his spokesman has said.

The group released their first record in 1967 with Wright appearing alongside lead guitarist Syd Barrett, Roger Waters and Nick Mason.

Dave Gilmour joined the band at the start of 1968 while Barrett left the group shortly afterwards.

Wright penned songs on albums including Dark Side Of The Moon.

It's all go today :(

It is sad when a part of music royalty dies. Some of those songs changed the face of music forever.

Damn, I love PF. They will always hold a special place for me as one of their songs was playing in the background when I was deflowered. RIP Richard.

this is terrible, so sad. he was one of the greats - he music changed alot of peoples lives, myself included.

Rest in peace Rick, thankyou for the music you gave us. :(

Yep - bad, bad news. His music has certainly changed my life, and has provided much of my life's soundtrack, so to speak.

R.I.P., Rick Wright.

Man, that sucks. Pink Floyd are one of my favorite bands. I've actually known about this for a few days, but just now seen this thread, so I figured I'd pay my respects.

Listening to "Brain Damage" right now.
