The Pinlo Slice 3 isn't going to wow you with tons of bells and whistles its a bare bones case that is made to basically disappear once snapped onto your iPhone 5. Its a one piece snap design that literally weighs nothing when held in the hand and is freakishly thin. The feel of the plastic used on the case has a nice smooth matte feel to it that thankfully doesn't attract fingerprints as well.

To say this case is thin is truly an extreme understatement. I personally have never used a case that fits this well and manages to stay this thin ever. Its really something that needs to be experienced in person to truly understand and appreciate.

Like I said before this case all but disappears when snapped onto your iPhone 5. Not only is it thin but thankfully Pinlo has perfected the fitment of this case so there are no jagged edges or ill fitting corners anywhere you look. On the bottom of the case you have one large cutout for your dock, speakers and headphone jack. While theres nothing wrong with the one piece cutout i generally prefer an individual cutout for each as it gives the case a more finished look.

Up top you have what I can say is a perfect cutout and fit around the corners of the case. This is how all snap cases should look in my opinion. The case has a full wrap around look with just the single opening for the lock button and thats it. I couldn't have asked for anything more and the look is just stunning.

Around the side of the case you have two individual cutouts for your volume buttons and mute switch as well. The fitment of each cutout is right on point and since the case is so dang thin you have an almost identical feel to accessing the buttons as you would without a case at all.

The camera cutout on the case unfortunately is a little bit bigger than I would have hoped for when compared to the very tight and precise cutouts around the rest of the case. I understand they were more than likely trying to avoid the dreaded bounce flash problem that a tighter cutout could give off but they could have made the dimensions of this area a little smaller just to go along with the rest of the look of the case. You can really see how thin this case is when looking at the cutout around the camera though it really is mind blowing once you see it in person.

Ultimately if your looking for one of the top two or three thinnest cases out there then this is your best bet. Yes there might be a couple other cases out there that are thinner by a fraction of a millimeter but none of them fit as well as the Pinlo Slice 3 or has a more polished and finished look as this case. No its not going to give you anything but some basic scratch protection for the back of the iPhone 5 and some minimal side scratch protection but for someone needing a minimal case that all but disappears when on the iPhone this is your best bet by a large margin.

Thanks for the review and the pictures. I've planned on buying this case whenever I get my iPhone and this doesn't change things at all!

For some reason I thought the buttons on the side were covered but oh well.

I'm debating on the black & the clear one. Can you see the Apple logo through the case?

Save your money folks. You can buy the exact, and I mean exact same case for $1.58 on ebay instead of $25 from Pinlo. I have the cheap case. Exact same size and same fit. Bought 2 in case one was not a perfect fit. Turns out both are perfect fit.

Got nearly the same one but the top part is like the bottom part. Perfect fit and no problems. Got off ebay for about a dollar too. Save your dollars people :)

I also agree - these cheapie cases on eBay are spot on. I've tried a number of cases like 12 or more and if you are looking for a super thin case, these are awesome. The only thing is as they are coming from China, you need to have patience as it'll take around 2 weeks to get them.

Will the Bodyguardz Pure work with this case? Forgot to ask in my original reply.

It doesn't come up against the glass, so yes.

I second this! My favorite cases are always my cheap ones from eBay (or my ZooGue cases that were free + shipping.) They all do what they need to do well and are just so cheap. I could get 10-20 different cases for the price of a comparative Pinlo, Spigen, etc. case.. and I'd rather have the former option.

Pretty sure I'm gonna get the $1 on eBay since the Bodyguardz Pure is pretty pricey.

And I just found another glass cover in another thread that's even more expensive and if I get that, I definitely need to save money by ordering the case off eBay haha.

And for me, I'm not opposed to paying a little more for a great case but you don't have to with these eBay cases. These are really that good and I can switch them up. Right now I have the green, red and bright pink. En route from China I have coming white, red, purple and blue. So for the price of all of these cases I could almost buy one Spigen. I have the Spigen but like the eBay cases better. They fit better, feel good in the hand and have top coverage. So far at least with the colored cases I don't see any staining or discoloration. They also seem pretty resistant to scratches. You can scratch the case if you dig at it with your finger nail but regular use slipping it in and out of my purse and on the table doesn't seem to cause any harm. I'll report back once I get the white frosted ones.

I ordered a white and red one 8) so excited. I had one for my iPhone 4 as well.. great scratch protection and feels great like you said, assuming you can do without the drop protection. I have my own cases for that if I ever need to go anywhere in which I might be a bit more concerned about my phone though!

Just a question guyz, is this one (the original pinlo or the ceap off ebay) gonna scratch the sides of the iphone by any chance?
Because i ve got the black slate one and im a bit worried about making scratches on the iphones sides

No, they're plastic and wouldn't scratch the aluminum. The only thing that'd make it scratch is if something that could scratch the aluminum got trapped in between the case and the phone.

Thanks man, i had for about a year the original pinlo slice 3 on my iphone 4 without any problem but now with so many things a ve read about the black iphone5 i worried:)
Anyway i ve just oredered 3 cheap of ebay !

I know I mentioned previously that the eBay knock off cases are the same. Very close knock offs indeed but I've yet to find a white knock off case on eBay. Plenty of frosted cases, but I've only seen that Pinlo only makes the actual white case. So of course I ordered the white case. After all the many cases I've tried, this is my "go to" case. It is thin of course. Is made well with precise cutouts. The white color is an exact match to the white phone - not too cool and not too warm. The only other exact color match I've found has been the Power Support Air Jacket in white. Liked that case but the soft touch picked up discoloration quickly and wouldn't come clean.

So if you want an ultra slim white case, this is a great one and really the only true white ultra thin one out there. I know this will be my main everyday case and will swap out with the cheapie colored frosted cases when I need some pizazz.

So while the cheapie eBay cases are a great alternative, the Pinlo is the one if you want the ultra thin in white.

You have a link? I like the Pinlo Slice, but don't like that the top of the phone is covered. I want it open like the bottom

Can anyone clarify something for me? The cheap cases on E-Bay ($1.58)...it says it includes a frosted case? I want something clear but I don't see that clear is a choice..are they giving you a frosted case with a purchase of a colored one? Thanks!

They consider the frosted as white.

Nice case, I just picked up the incase snap pro from the apple store looks like I might have to grab this one!

Damn the black is out of stock in that ebay link...
