Pinned Gmail and FB tabs consuming 2gb memory

This is surely not normal? Happens after 8-10 hours, and then I need to restart Safari.

Can't speak for Gmail, but FB is a horrible web app. It continually loads more and more data into the page and eats up RAM. I'd avoid keeping it open, just open it when you need it.

Yup. Closed my pinned tabs and RAM usage dropped by 2GB.
