Pinned Sites not Working in Private Window

I just installed Sierra and decided to try pinning a few sites. When I close and reopen Safari, the pinned sites are still there, however they do not show up when I open a private window.

Is this working as intended? Anyone experiencing the same thing?

This is intentional. Pinned tabs are shared across all of your windows. A private window is a completely separate entity and won’t participate in this. You can still pin them within that private window of course.
