Pinned tabs not loading in Safari after wake from sleep

Running El Capitan, final release. Very frequently, my pinned tabs will not re-load when my macbook pro wakes from sleep. That is, if I click refresh manually to re-load the page, the tab will continue to display the old content, the "refresh" icon changes to the "x" but the page never changes. When the pinned tabs are in this state, I can open a new tab and load the same page so I know that I have a good Internet connection and the destination site is working. I have to quit Safari and and restart the app for the pinned tabs to re-load properly again. I've sent a bug report to Apple but was wondering if anyone else is having this issue?
