Hello,

Great Forum.
Thanks to all for all the help.
Sr. Citizen now, and can really use it.

Have a new iMac.

Can't seem to get a firm understanding on this aspect of the Dock.

When I move, anything to it (APPS on the Left of the Divider, and I guess most everything else to the right of; correct ?), what is "automatically" pinned and locked to the Dock ?

What isn't ? When in the Dock, what's the easiest way to determine, and to pin what might not be ?

Thanks,
Bob

the dock is used for the most used apps.

you may pin or remove anything you wish.

I have my browsers and most often used apps.
I also have a link to right of divider to the app drawer to make finding apps easier, if your from windows, it bit like "all programs"

are you asking how to pin/unpin items?

Thanks for reply.

Yes.

Interested in what is, and is not, pinned “automatically” ?

Bob

I think depends on what is installed.

some apps, like office when installed auto add to dock.

to removed from dock, right click (or alt plus click if touchpad) and options, remove.
or if you want something stay there, open then app then repeat the above but in options, keep in dock.

simple when you get used to it.
