Hey guys, I've got an older G4 tower with an internal Pioneer 106D DVD Burner. My current firmware is 1.07. The drive doesn't recognize some of my DVD's. My other mac has a Pioneer 107D that recognizes the same DVD's. Can anybody provide me a link to the latest drivers. I bought OSX 10.4 I'm trying to upgrade from 10.2.8 but it keeps spitting the DVD out which works in my other mac.

H E L P ! ! !

Look here, about 1/2 way down the page:

It might be a defective drive.

I've had 2 pioneer A07 drives.

Both of them eventually had problems reading disks, then they couldn't write DVDs any faster than 4 x, then they eventually died and needed replacing.

I got a new PIONEER DVR-116D and it solved the problem.

They just die eventually.

I'm actually looking for a region 0 firmware update for that drive myself so I can rip some region 1 dvds. I'm in the UK and were region 2

Thanks guys! Those are great links.

But I've tried all day and still havn''t able to update the firmware. I'm sure the older 10.2.8 has a lot to do with it. I'm getting the same error no matter what:

dyld: ./DVRFlash can't open library: /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
Trace/BPT trap
