I installed this drive on my Mac AGP Graphics Powermac.... It works great with Toast with burning of cd's and dvd's.... And it also worked great with Disk Utility with the burning...

But now I'm not able to burn anything with Disk Utility ever since I upgraded to the 1.57 firmware... Then I read here in the MacForums that there's a 1.58 firmware... So I upgraded again...

Oh, I've been flashing the new firmwares with DVRFlash 2.1...

So now, after upgrading to 1.58, I just noticed this....

Double clicking DVRFlash:

Device: A
Vendor: PIONEER
Model: DVD-RW DVR-109
Revision: 1.58

Status: RPC-2 (Region locked)
Region: 1
Changes: 4 region changes remaining
4 vendor resets remaining
state is 'Region set'

Opening up the Apple System Profile:

Manufacturer: PIONEER
Model: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109
Revision 1.57 <---- I thought I upgraded???
Drive Type: CD-RW/DVD-RW
Disc Burning: Not Supported <----- Why????
Removable Media: Yes
Detachable Drive: No
Protocol: ATAPI
Unit Number: 0
Socket Type: Internal

I'm still able to burn cd's and dvd's with Toast... but not with Disk Utility...

Anyone know what can be wrong, or what I did wrong? And how can it be fixed?

It's listed as Not Supported because Apple doesn't provide support for it. This shouldn't stop you from using the drive though

I'm able to use the drive fine with Toast...

but I can't burn anything with Disk Utility anymore..... I was able to burn just fine before I upgraded on the firmware....
