I'm looking to replace the Matshita UJ-846S drive in my intel Mac Mini so that I can flash it with rpc1 firmware.
The recommendation seems to be for either the Pioneer DVR-K05 or DVR-K06. I know that there isn't firmware for the K06 available in the Mac flasher application yet, but that's not a problem - I can flash it on a Windows box.
Other than that, can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two drives? The specs on the Pioneer site seem to be identical.
And one more question: Once I've got the 846 out of the mac mini, can i put it in my G4 powerbook (running Panther 10.3.9)?
