I didn't know where to pot this topic so i'd put it here.

So today i bought my first iMac and me and my dad were exploring the terminal, but we needed the pipe key, you know the vertical stripe. Can anyone tell me how to find it, i'm using a wireless keyboard from apple.

Which wireless keyboard do you have?

I've circled the vertical bar key on both.

Oh, forgot to mention that i have an azerty 1 and it looks way different.

The enter button is bigger, btw.

What keyboard layout do you have?

Icy1007, is correct for US English and British English keyboards, but it will be different on others. Some you might have to press alt and another key.

Try this, open System Preferences > Languages and Text > Input Sources Tab, then check the Keyboard and Character Viewer checkbox. Then from the input method icon in the system tray (top right) select Show Keyboard Viewer.

You should then see a window with your keyboard, try pressing the shift and alt keys as it will show what the keys become when using them.

Try Option + 1 or perhaps Shift + Option + 1

This is a windows keyboard layout, but the Alt Gr key is equivalent to the option key on Macs.
