I have a Pismo (upgraded to a G4-500MHZ) with firewire, 80GB hdd, 500MB RAM and OS X.

Last week the screen started "blooming" - going bright, unreadable with a frozen image then dissapearing.

I held the power button down for 5 secs, reset it and then restarted and all was good again.

Next day, same thing and so on each day

As the week passed, the problem became more prevalent until it occured after about 15 minutes of running. Quite erratic.

I plugged in an external monitor and that does the same so its not particular to the LCD screen

Then, next time it happened and I restarted, now the screen does not show at all.

I hear the hard drive spin up on turn on, the normal come to life noise from the speaker and so on - feels like some sort of internal video issue.

Anyone got any ideas on what this is ? I am sure I am not the first.

FYI Another weird thing is that the little reset button has to be pushed at the rear before it will start - has been this way for months and I have been meaning the replace the PRAM battery as the date does not hold, but I have been less concerned as it picks up network time. I am imagining this is unrelated but worth mentioning !

Any help appreciated.
