ok, so im searching the interwebz for a simple eSata to usb 3.0..

i have never seen the eSata on my laptop until today...as i search the web i try to locate eSata to usb 3.0 (because my external HD is usb 3.0) and have no luck..the internet is so saturated on how they compare and the new thunderbolt, that i cant find what i am looking for..:(

all i see is usb 3.0 to eSata...not eSata to usb 3.0...
(let me clarify: i have an eSata slot and want to be able to connect my usb 3.0 enabled HD to my computer to get faster speeds than the 2.0)

1. i have never used eSata and have no idea what it even is good for ( but i read its much like a usb)

and

2. is there such a thing as an adapter for this?

please help

Do you have an Express Card slot or an eSATA port?

i have both...

if it helps, that is my laptop...its an hp dv6

As of now, I think you're stuck with a powered Express Card USB3 adapter wich should give you close to USB3 speeds. As there are likely few people with external devices with USB3 and not SATA/eSATA wanting to be plugged into computers without a USB3 port, I wonder what the market would be for such an adapter.
