Pixel Width Modulation Issues

Those who have issues with this , what does it look like? I’ve been having issues if I am in a dark room( I have an infant) and I’m looking at my phone particularly a black background with white words. I see a sort of flicker. So I booked an ophthalmologist apt but the more I read I am wondering if this is a PWM issue. I have always been sensitive to flickers and led lights. I am just learning what pwm is . Crazy!
