Its free for all those who bought the prior version from MAS. That's the good news, I have not yet dug into it and compared it PS CS5. I'm on the fence with this one. I'm tempted to buy the latest version of PS because of the plugins I own and use, or use pixelmator.

Looks like a solid update though.
 
Just updated

Just updated and played around for a few minutes. It's very nice... a pleasing interface and very fast. I want to use Pixelmator so badly, but I keep finding it more difficult so I switch back to PS. Pixelmator is a great product with a bright future, but there's still some work to do. I'd love to be able to use it more and more and not depend completely on Adobe.

2.0 has some very nice new features and you can't beat the price.
 
One of the minor irritations is I cannot save as any more, but "export" to jpg/png/tiff.

I'm trying to figure out if I want to keep pixelmator or switch back to PS. I can buy CS5 under the education price at the moment and I may take that plunge
