Pixelmator Help

I created an edited image using pixelmator, which saves in the .pxm format, but that format is unable to be uploaded onto forums or photo sites. i tried changing it to .jpg or .png, but when opened (if it opened, .png did not) the effects i added were gone. How can I upload this to a site without losing what i added to the photo?

Right, the .pxm file is a Pixelmator file so it saves all of your layers and everything. You need to open it in Pixelmator and Export or Save As to get an actual image file you can use.
