Pixelmator today announced that its Pixelmator Photo app is now available on the iPhone. Previously limited to the iPad, the photo editing app features over 30 desktop-class color adjustment options, support for over 600 RAW image formats like Apple ProRAW, integration with the Photos app and iCloud Photos, and several AI-powered editing tools.

Pixelmator Photo for iPhone also includes batch editing features for editing entire photoshoots at once, copying and pasting edits between photos, a split comparison view for comparing edits in close detail, essential tools like Crop and Straighten, and more.

Pixelmator Photo for iPhone requires iOS 14 or later and is available today on the App Store as a free update for existing users of the iPad app. New users can take advantage of a special launch price of $3.99, and the app will be regularly priced at $7.99.

Pixelmator is best known for its popular Pixelmator Pro image editor for the Mac.

I just noticed that and when I tried buying it ($3.99) it told me I had a prior version and allowed me to get this version for free.
I can confirm this.

I was pretty sure I had bought the app for iPad and still was showing as £3.49 for me, but when I “bought” it again, it showed a message saying the update was free because I own a previous version or something

I can finally stop mourning the loss of CinemaFX during the great 32bit purge because Pixelmator Photo included ML Color Match in the iPhone version. I’m so stoked.

Showing as $4.99 for me right now.

Edit: that's how it shows on the App Store on my phone. Following the link in the article shows a price of $3.99 .. weird.

Edit 2: looks like the $4.99 price is for the photo/video editor, not the one mentioned here ?

I can confirm this.

Same here! Sweet. I just don't know about editing photos on a phone. ?

I had a previous version and got this for free.

This app would be much better if it was also available in the "invoke" feature (Is it called invoke?) in iOS Photos editing mode. In editing mode, at top right corner, the "...". Currently I have PS Express, ReTouch, Pixelmator, and Darkroom in the list.

I use Pixelmator Photo on my 7th Gen iPad, and it's a decent program for quick edits. I'm considering switching to iPhone in the new year, and this be a first-day addition.

Probably my favorite Mac/iOS developer. High quality, efficient, native feeling apps that constantly keep getting better, and always priced very fairly and updated for free for a long, long time.
I heavily depend on the full Adobe CC suite, but I still always buy Pixelmator apps, always something useful (for example, love the ML super resolution feature).

I have Pixelmator on my iPhone but the App Store is showing me $3.99.

And one has to actually go through the buying process - e.g. double click the buttons to "buy" it.
Then it says: "This update is free because you own a previous version of this item. To get this update now, select OK".
