Places in Photos?

So it's still possible to see Places in the Photos app organized by moment, but is it possible to see Places as it used to be in iOS 6 and prior? Previously you could see all your places you had ever taken photos at marked with a red pin. I enjoyed adding new pins to my map and miss that feature. Am I missing something or is the Moments organization now the only way to see a map with my pictures displayed on it?

I searched around online and haven't found anyone else discussing this so maybe I was one of the only ones who enjoyed that.

I enjoyed that feature too and often chose not to delete old photos in case it made my map look less well travelled!

I'm pretty sure they've pulled that feature. The nearest thing to it is if you go back a couple layers in photos to show photos by Year and not Moment. If you click on any year it will then show a map. Not as detailed as before but the best we get I think.
