"Places" on iPhone only displays from Camera Roll?

I just noticed that when I go to the places tab on my iP4 it only displayed the geotagged picture locations that are still on my camera roll. After I sync and delete them from the camera roll those pictures in places disappear even though I still have the pictures synced through an album or event...

Is this supposed to happen? I'm pretty sure I remember having ALL my photos in places before (but this could be because sometimes I keep my photos on the camera roll for months before I finally clear them out)

I've noticed this too, so I suppose this is the norm....which stinks, 'cuz I love the places feature on the phone and iPhoto

well that is seriously lame... I hope they change that in the future
