In Safari 6.0.2, is there a way to place a link on the desktop w/o "moving" the Safari screen over and dragging the link to the desktop? I tried copying and pasting, but the pasting part of that doesn't work.

Drag your Desktop Folder on the Dock and drag to this Folder instead of the Dock.

Edit: I feel your pain, I also have this problem, Apple should have a link to the Desktop when you right click the URL Bar, or a button next to it which makes this link.
Another option would be a clever guy to make an extension to just this or add it to Glims.
