Plan to buy iMac how to get my gaming headset working with it?

I want to get my gaming headset working with it so the MIC and headphones work. Separate connections.

Do I need to get something like this?

Or what are your recommendations as I want good sound when I game, but I also need it to work with Mac OS-X.

Does you headset have separate green and pink plugs? I use this to connect my Turtle Beach headset to my Mac Pro, and it works great.

Yes, it has the green and pink. But does that connector do surround? Doesn't seem like it?

The headset should not matter. I just need to get the green sound, and pink mic working on a mac for game play. Prefer surround sound. Reason why I brought up that Soundblaster as i saw a few people mention that. I can buy that device as I have a cash back for Dell that I need to use.

It's a RAZER headset.
