It's these kind of threads that cause so much disappointment.

Umm, why?

Because there isn't a jailbreak ready right this moment?

Relax.

-----------

This is great news and I'm looking forward to jailbreak progress in the coming weeks - staying optimistic.

No matter how far they get I know they won't release it until a couple weeks after 6.1 is released, so I think it's more waiting for that, because I feel like they basically have it ready.

The title of this thread was very different than the subject.

What, are we making new threads every time one of them tweets now?

It's the n00bs :(

Wasn't that requiring a dev account though?

You might want to catch up by reading some of the existing threads here - there are many.
They have a working untethered jailbreak using exploits they have discovered.
It has not been released to the public.

No it's not?

Tweet says they have good progress.

Title says they have good news.

One in the same if you ask me.

Good progress is not the same as good news. Good progress is "we found another bug".

Good news is "iOS 6/iPhone 5 JB being packaged for released".

I only recently caved and signed up with Twitter, so I wasn't following the news during the iOS 5 jailbreak, but didn't pod2g start giving regular progress updates once that jailbreak was getting close?

ye, theres never ever gona be a jb son, never. We might just get ourselves a samsung s4 instead yo.

lololol

hahahahahaha. lol a android .....what a joke...id take a locked down ios device over it any day hehe. Nah I get your sarcasm though:) pretty funny when I re-read what you said. I know there is going to be a public JB, LOL...they just dont want to burn the exploits they have and want to find more so they can jb in future releases of ios so that is 6.1 has problems they have more to burn and give us a jb on the next 6.1.1 or whatever comes

Nice, 2 more vulnerabilities on top of what they've already found? Good news.

Though I gotta say, I'm starting not to miss jailbreaking. At this point, I would only want it to play around with random tweaks like Auxo, iUsers just to personalize it even more or just to see what I could do to it for fun but for day-to-day use, I'm getting along with the iPad just fine.

The question is how many of these vulnerabilities will Apple close with 6.1.

Planetbeing provided some clarification on Reddit. Apparently one of the vulnerabilities they found can be used to replace of of the vulnerabilities they want to save for later. So that's encouraging, but there's still a lot to be done.

pod2g discovered a vulnerability and told me about it and I tried to integrate it into my existing jailbreak code to replace one of the ones we don't want to burn. I discovered I couldn't get his to work due to some miscommunication, but in the process of trying to get his to work, I discovered a new vulnerability for doing the same thing. I did get THAT one to work and it's now integrated with the rest. :)

Unfortunately, as pod2g says, neither bug has to do with initial code injection, which we currently don't have a duplicate/backup vulnerability for at all.
