My upgraded 09 cMP is running High Sierra nicely (installed on an SSD via adaptor), and with an RX580 pulse.
I’m an early adopter of release versions so installed 10.13.0. Reading the threads here about the beta it appears another Firmware update will be necessary for 10.14 so guess I’ll need to put the Mac EFI flashed R9 280x I kept back in on release day. Figure I may as well do the whole install with that and switch back after?
My other concern is all the 32-bit games I have yet to get round to. One idea I had was to clone High Sierra to another SSD - probably HFS+ formatted rather than APFS as that way I figure I could leave open the option of a Windows install (managed to avoid it so far) so at least I might have the option of running PC versions if MacOS ones are abandoned by developers/porters. With an HFS+ volume that hopefully solves the booting between Win/Mac issue with an APFS main boot disk? i.e boot from Windows to 10.13 on HFS+ then to 10.14 on APFS?
I’d rather not disable SIP.
