Planning on purchasing Iphone 7, which carrier?

Hey everyone,

I am planning to purchase an Iphone 7 on pre-order day and was wondering what option I should choose in regards to carrier selection. I am currently with Verizon and will be switching to Sprint in a few months. Would it be wise to purchase the SIM free Iphone on pre-order day? Have they sold the SIM free Iphones on pre-order day in the past?
