It depends of how heavily you use the device. I have a cellular S5 that I use heavily (I am very active and I rely on the watch for many apps and notifications), and with AOD enabled and sleep tracking I have to charge it everyday, sometimes I even have to give a second boost of charge. But if you disable AOD, don’t sleep with it, don’t workout heavily, don’t use cellular data, your apple watch can easily last for 1.5 to 2 days

If you use the watch normally as intended, you will need to charge every day.

Agree with this. I get about 3.5% to 4% drop every hour and charge everyday. With used AW6, check the battery health too as that will also affect how long it lasts. However, you can make it last 2 full "day" if you only use it during the daytime and turn it off at nights.

The one i'm eyeing has 97% health, shouldnt be too bad i reckon ?

Yep that's pretty good. Apple considers battery degrading at 80% (they replace it if it is below 80% and under Applecare+). So 97% is pretty good.

I typically see all day battery life, and that can include an hour of an outdoor running while streaming music (no phone). Longer workouts and I'll pop the watch on the charger while I shower.

Plan on charging every day in typical usage. I put it on the charger when I go to bed, I'm not interested in any sleep metrics. Other folks may charge it when they're getting ready in the morning or while working at their desk or something.

This all of course depends on your usage -- remember we tend to spend a lot of time playing with new toys, so your initial battery life those first days may not be representative of what you'll see once the novelty wears off and you're using it "normally" rather than constantly messing with it.

Do you have AOD on or off ?

When I first bought my S5 watch I tested a few days with AOD on and a few days with AOD off.

I saw little effective difference in battery life. IMHO it just doesn't really matter relative to the other stuff you do if you're working in a charge-every-day paradigm.

Day and a half. It goes on the charger while I’m in the shower and getting dressed, and then back on my wrist.

I have had a S6 45mm since launch (non-celluar). It currently is at 90% battery health a year later.

I wake up and take it off the charger 6-7am with 100% and use it with the always on display and quite a few notifications all day long. Typically a 30-45 min run (synced with iPhone I carry with me so it is not using GPS) with it too. I usually end the night around 11p-12a with 25-20% battery remaining. Not thrilling.

I'm sure if I turned off always on display or even more aggressively lift to wake (you'd have to press the button to light up the screen) I could do 1.5 to nearly 2 days... but using the watch with all its feature NO WAY does it last more than a single day for me.

Bottom line is this is a device you should expect to charge every single night like your phone. If you want to sleep track you are going to have to really figure out periods of time during the day to keep trying to get it on a charger like showers, sitting at a desk etc. so that it is well charged for sleep and starting the next day,
