Can someone tell me the differences please. Besides the processor speed all i can think of is the lack of firewire on the Macbook.

The MBP has FW 800, an SD card slot, the built-in 7 hr battery, and a 160GB HD. The MB has a removable 4-5 hr battery, a 250GB HD, and no FW or SD.

Currently, both machines are available for $999 on Apple.com/Refurbished Macs.

Thanks GDF for the heads up. I was planning to buy a used 2.4ghz Macbook for $900... But $999+tax just might put a twist on things.

13" MBP pro wins hands down. Use search to find the many, many threads about how happy people are with their June MBPs, and how glad they don't have the revision A uMB. You will surely regret getting the 2.4, knowing that the 2.26 was available.

Hey, whichever way you lean

They are not too different.
PRO macbook!!
-in CPU tests, the 2.4GHZ is actually faster than the 2.26 chip.
-The battery in this model is actually interchangeable, unlike in the Pro!
-you may not need firewire like many people
-the battery still lasts for ages

Pro Macbook pro!!
-Its battery kicks ass :)
-It can handle more ram (8GB?)
-The screens, are exactly the same (crap glare ridden screens imo)
-It has SD (which I really like - cause I need it!)

I had a 2.4ghz and it got nicked, so Im getting either a 2.53 macpro or an AIR.. AIRs are so good to use...
