Couldn't tell you, but your best bet is to get RAM from Crucial. It's reliable and many users on this forum have had success with it. Mix that with awesome customer service if your RAM arrives faulty and you got yourself a good deal.

there are reviews on both sticks that they work on the early 2008 mbp (my comp), so i'll go with those. thanks for the advice though

The original ram is cas 5. So while you can purchase a cas 4, you wont see any real world difference in performance.

that mushkin RAM is a good deal. respected name, less than $40 after rebate. go for it. the lower latency won't help you at all, your MBP is limited in that sense (it's an older chipset, at this point).

pretty much as long as you get a name-brand pc2-5300 you will be more than fine. newegg customer service is as good or better than anyone else out there, including crucial and OWC. and they have a FAR wider selection.

i've been buying from them for over 10 years.

I would go with OWC at macsales.com for all mac related hardware. They have great quality and an easy return policy if a product like RAM fails. They also have helpful instructional videos on their website to guide you through installed new hardware components to your mac.
