Anybody planning on using the Ultra as well as an older Apple Watch in rotation? I have a Series 6 (stainless+cellular) that I can get $150 for trading in, or I could keep it and use as a dedicated sleep tracker or for more formal events where the large Ultra might be a bit too "in your face".

Anyone know if there's a way to have both activated on cellular (Verizon) sharing the same number? Would only keep the older watch activated if I wasn't having to pay an additional monthly fee for it.

I do that now with wifi only versions of the S3 and S5. Once my Ultra arrives I'll retire the 3. My plan is to wear the Ultra as much as possible and charge it 30-60 minutes in the morning. Essentially, as soon as I wake up I'll take off the Ultra and swap it with the 5 and wear the 5 eating breakfast, showering, getting ready... Once my day is about to start, I'll put the Ultra back on. I do not plan to activate the cellular service on the Ultra.

My question for you and anyone else planning on doing this with cellular watches, is why do you need cell service on 2 watches if 1 is clearly a primary device? I'd consider deactivating the cell service on the older watch and keeping the service on the Ultra.

Planning to regularly swap out my current S6 and the ultra. I’ll use the ultra for my morning workout then switch to the smaller watch for the day. And of course take the ultra for hiking and camping trips. I’ll probably start wearing one of them at night, now that I can swap out charging - I’ll experiment to see if the ultra tracks sleep better.

Or…maybe I’ll end up wearing the ultra all the time.

Either way - the ultra will get the cell service. Any time other than workouts, I’ll either have my phone with me or won’t have service at all, so there’s no point in having cell service on my S6.

Sure. I mean, I have a S7 red, S5 ceramic, S6 stainless, S5 black stainless and S4 silver aluminum right now. I'll just add the Ultra to the rotation and go on.

None of mine are activated on any cell plans, so I have no info.

I have a gold stainless s4 that looks amazing and still works well. It’s not worth much at all, so I’ll probably keep it for the occasional time I dress up or just want to switch out my Ultra for something different. The gold stainless is still my favorite look overall, but the ultra will be my new daily watch.

I will have the Ultra, Stainless S7, and Stainless S4. The S4 will be rarely used and the others will be the rotation. The resale of Stainless is so low compared to price that its hard to justify getting rid of unless you sell locally

Would you set up the Ultra as a new watch or from a backup? I'm planning on using 2, the ultra as my primary and my S7 for secondary.

i really am not sure, but i had the impression, that if you restore the new device from the backup of a 'still running' device, that has a mobile plan attached, it sometimes behaves odd, when switching the devices. Meaning, i had to enter the mobile section of the devices config and reselect/activate the mobile plan occassionally.. on my latest device, that i configured as new, the mobile plan is available instantly, when switching..
but.. i really am not sure, if this all really is related or if it was a coincidence based on any other tech issue

As i am waiting for my AWU right now, i will configure it as new device again.. just in case ;)
