I played Plants vs. Zombies 2 when it first came out, but haven't touched in quite a while. Fired it up, wanted to start from scratch, and whoa, the map is totally different. I don't like the 'new' map for a couple of reasons, but that doesn't matter as much as this question... how the heck do I know which level's I've played and beaten, and which ones I haven't?

My wife just asked me the same question. The levels that are blue have been completed.

It's been a while! They changed it up quite a while ago. That said, I think once you get used to this, you'll find it MUCH better than the original PvZ2 map.

Oh I see now (green vs blue). I didn't realize that the game had kept my progress, so in the first "world", ALL of the levels were blue, which would make sense, since I did them way back when the game came out. I'm good now, sorry, kinda a dumb question :).
