Could a plastic hard case damage the side bezel on the iPhone 5? I know aluminum is a soft metal but plastic isn't that hard. The reason I ask is I can't decide between using a hard shell case and going caseless. I've taken the case off and installed it a couple of times. Could it harm the phone?

I have a friend that's telling me that removing and installing the case can scratch the side bezel. True?

Wouldn't this all come down to reflative hardness, case material vs. bezel material?

It's not the plastic that scratches the sides but all the dust and particles that come in between and cause abrasion. :) You can't really avoid that.
