Hey,
In my iTunes I have three versions of every movie, one in 1080p, one in 720p, and one in 960x640.
The reason I do this is file size. I have apple tv's hooked up to home cinema systems, so there I want the 1080p 5.1audio versions.
On my iPads I want the 720p 2.0audio versions and on the iPhones and other mobiles, I want the 960x640 2.0audio versions.
Now in iTunes I only seem to find a setting that can make me choose to prefer SD versions on my iPhone/iPad.
For the iPhone this works fine, but not for the ipad, I have the preference that I want the 1080p to play on my computer and now it automatically picks the 1080p HD to sync with the iPad. If I change the setting to prefer 720p it will pick that version, but I am afraid that it will now also stream the 720p version to my apple tv. (I can't test it as I am away from home for another 2/3 weeks)
But I was hoping you could help me figure this out before I spent pointless hours creating the 3 way combos in iTunes.

Thanks

Arne

In case anyone was wondering, when you have 3 versions of your movie in iTunes, apple tv 2 (720p version) plays the 720p video file, when you only have 1080p and SD it plays SD, the only way to get it I play the 1080p version is to delete the other versions!
And it is impossible to play a video through home sharing on an iPad 2 or iPhone 4S (haven't tested others) when it's marked as 1080p content, change the tag to 720p and it will play just fine...
As a result I now have 2 versions, 960x640 and 1080p marked respectively as SD and 720p.

Hope it helps...
