Play any video format on iPhone 5/4S

Hey guys, as you all know that iPhone plays only mp4 (and may be 3gp too) videos. It does not support for xVid or DivX. But android can play multiple video formats like mp4, wmv, mkv and 3gp and has support for xVid/DivX also. So, which are the best free and paid apps to play any kind of video format for iPhone 5/4S?

Oplayer and MoliPlayer both play a variety of formats and have free versions. The latter is highly recommended for playing .mkv files.

or go to download.com and download a free video converter software , or shock horror gasp get the pro version and actually buy one !!!

Some of them have pre-built in setup to convert exactly to the 4s screen size and audio codec already

AVS Media Player is a good player. And it is free. I use it and it supports a wide variety of video file types.

There are apps that will.

The A5/A6 cpu has enough grunt to decode them.

You are better off using a compatible mp4 codec because it supports hardware decode to maximize battery life and storage space though. Same goes for Android handsets. They use basically the same ARM cores and similar GPU's. Even though Android supports the other formats, it takes a processing and power life penalty on them as well.
