So I bought my JVC head unit right before 3.5 mm aux inputs were mainstream (they were available, but not cheap). My unit has a usb port on the front designed to play media on any storage device (from flash drive up to a portable HDD). I want to avoid the hassle and poor quality of a FM transmitter.

So basically I don't have an aux input, or any red/white RCA inputs in the rear of my head unit. I've tried the dock connector but my unit just displays an error.

I ordered this usb to 3.5mm data cable for the suffle, think it'll work?

Will any docks possibly sort out the error and allow me to use the 30-pin to usb cable?

Your issue with trying to use the dock connector is that the head unit can't read the iPod and it's filesystem.

The cable isn't going to work.
