iPod touch play list problem

i’m trying to add all the songs on my ipod touch (32gb, upgraded to 2, had the same problem with 1.1.4) but it doesn’t add anything
the way i’m doing it is:

music
playlist
on-the-go
add all songs
done

when i then look in the playlist there’s nothing?
