iPod touch play music on touch remotely?

Is there anyway I can play music on my ipod touch remotely, for example if I have it plugged into my audio receiver and I am outside but I want to change songs? Is this possible? Can I control it with my iphone and/or computer?

If you have your computer plugged in to your audio receiver, you can use your iPod touch/iPhone to control iTunes to play your music (using Remote).

Haven't seen anything that does it the other way around.
