playable vobs on PS3

Hi all

I'm trying to rip my DVD library to my hard drive to stream to the PS3. I've tried using MactheRipper to create a single vob but this won't work on the PS3. I get an error saying the data is corrupted.

I've tried renaming the vobs to mpg and mpeg with no luck.

Anyone any idea how to make a streamable vob?

I'm using Medialink but I've also tried Twonky and Eyeconnect.

I've managed to get video to work but can't get any audio.

Does anyone know if I need to convert the audio from the .vob file?

I found some work and some don't, which is a bit strange. 3 out of 13 shows I just did worked consistently. All from the same set of DVDs. I'm using MediaLink and the 2.40 PS3 firmware. All the ones that do not play will play on my Mac.

I have tried using Handbrake .9.2 on he VOBs, based on the PS3 preset select MP4 video with discreet AAC audio and you will retain the surround. However this is a tedious process, though at least you can batch the VOBs already extracted.
