So the Willowbrook Mall store in Wayne, NJ had the Macbook Air 2.0 but not on display. Since a few of the staff members know me well, they let me play with one as they did with the new Macbook when it was not on display yet. My review:

I opened up three youtube videos and it worked like a charm and it wasn't as hot as my 1.6 MBA was and the fan didn't turn on once. I also tested out a 1080p trailer and it worked like a charm, not the least bit of lag or choppiness. Things seems quite snappier video wise and expose was smooth when I had many windows open including youtube. I did not notice any cosmetic changes. I wanted to get video of it but I felt that would have been pushing it. The only mistake I made was forgetting to ask about the specs but I did confirm that it was the MBA 2.0 by checking the slot door for the display port. I can't wait until I get my new MBA 2.0! You are all about to fall in love all over again!

Will gladly answer any questions.

UPDATE: Forgot to mention, the screen was just as gorgeous as the original MBA. I am glad it did not change as I personally think MBA's are the winners when it comes to screens.

thanks for the review!

was this the ssd or hdd model? I'm actually amazed that you ran a 1080 video without it stuttering.

how did you feel about heat?

Like I said, I forgot to ask about which model it was :( (Sorry) As far as heat, it produced some but definitely much less than the first gen.

Wow, awesome. Thanks for the review.

An Air is the last thing I need, but with all the video and heat problems fixed it's gonna be hard to keep my wallet shut!

that's cuz the nvidia 9400m is taking the video processing workload off the processor. niceeee

does sound good.
the good graphics and the size is the winning factor for me.

i shall start saving now lol.

Did they happen to mention when they would be getting any stock of these?

Thanks,

Now all they need to do is drop the price by 30% and they'll have a runaway success on their hands.

lets hope the new air fixes all the old problems
i smell a new laptop for me if they do ;)

what's the touchpad thingy like?
is it like the new ones?

Touchpad was the same. Four finger swipe either wasn't there or maybe was just disabled. I wish I went prepared with a list of what to look for. Sorry guys.

lol, where is this "snappier safari" phenomenon comes from?

Back when we were getting updates to 10.1 and 10.2 the big user benchmark was how much "snappier" Safari felt. Now it's just a joke. Shows you how far OSX has come.

I read this twice and still can't figure out if your praising or bashing OSX lol.

This is what I've been trying to figure out, too. I've been playing with the new trackpads on the new 15" MBPs at the store and love them. If the new MBA has the glass trackpad where the whole pad is the button, then I might be able to talk myself into one. If not, then that would be a real bummer.

It still has the old trackpad. Apple doesn't have the engineering capabilities to remove the button.
