So I ordered one a week ago, and finally got it today. I installed windows 7, w/ boot camp drivers and fired up some games.

Overall Windows 7 is great on the new rmbp, with 2880x1800, I had to set DPI scaling to 200%, and the only browser useable was IE.

In OSX, it lags with retina scaling. Sites with lots of graphic elements destroys safari.

In terms of heat, the system gets toasty with W7, and is toasty overall. The fans though, are not very audible.

For gaming under W7, I've tested CSS, L4D, DOTA2, BF3, Diablo 3, and TW: Shogun.

Overall, gameplay is good at 30+ FPS depending on the game and resolution. I'll go into specifics later.

If anyone wants me to test something, let me know. :)

I love that the mouse cursor in Windows with DPI scaling set to 200% looks like butt. They've never gotten the little things right.

Hows safari in windows 7?

Is there scrolling lag in windows 7?

Is it pretty sharp looking?

I have not tried safari in W7, but if anything it will be either BLURRY like chrome, or if unscaled, TOO small.

There is 0 scrolling lag in W7. Non vector images, and low res stuff will stick out like a sore thumb.

Yeah, it's got some jagged lines on the diagonal lol :p

smiles on this forum look pretty god awful too on 200%

So glad I didn't get one and went for the MBA.

That's too bad. The Macbook air's screen resolution is too low compared to the competition and the viewing angle on them is utter crap.

I'm glad I went with the retina macbook pro.:)

Then we're both happy with our machines. Isn't that great?

Assassins's Creed Brotherhood/Revalations please?
Also what settings, resolution you had in BF3 and what fps did you got?

When you have time can you please tell me at what resolution were you running BF3 and what FPS were you getting? Thanks.I was going to upgrade from a 15" 2011 MBP to the $2200 non retina MBP but I was only going to do so if there was an adequate driver for the GT 650M

That's odd. Apple must have recently released a new version of bootcamp because I heard many people complain that they were unable to get the proper drivers from the bootcamp assistant for the GT 650M.

Yep, they just came out in the last day or two.

What res/detail settings for a smooth experience in d3? Presumably it plays better in win7 than OSX?

It absolutely is better in W7 then in OSX. On W7 A4, I get 50+ FPS @ 1440x900 with bells and whistles on, 2880x1800 chugs though.

Oh yeah, in case anyone is wondering, I ordered the laptop last week, and got it today. Talk about fast shipping LOL :)

Just curious, when last week did you order - right after the store reopened?

Thursday night. It shipped out sometime during the weekend, and arrived at my house this morning. I was expecting 3-4 weeks

Was pretty stoked

post some results for STW2 and if you by any chance have ETW or NTW and even M2TW or RTW post it all!

Let's see if we can get this guy to test starcraft2 on medium and ultra with the following resolutions: 1440x900 and 1680x1050 :)

Gimmie a bit to install these. I'm using a crappy external which installs at like 10mb/min :(

much appreciated! if you could use the ctrl-alt-f I believe it is in SC2 to get the fps counter and either start a game with a bunch of AI's or load a replay :)

It's just the early game performance is very different from the overall performance.

Cheers
