I have a small home theater next to my mac and I'm tryin to find a way to use it with the mac. I was thinkin of a 25 foot headphone cord, but is there a better way? NOT FM TRANSMITTERS. Those are crap and a half.

Which mac do you have? That will help us find a better solution for you. And what kind of receiver do you have?

my trusty Sawtooth, no bluetooth nor airport. The receiver is generic. Made in china kinda thing. Just has one large headphone input and 5 red and white plugs

Well than, all you need is a mini jack to mini jack to run from your line out or headphone jack to the headphone jack on the reciever, or use a mini jack to red and white cable instead. You can get these for less than 10 dollars at your local electronics store.

I dunno about running a 25 foot mini-to-mini cable, or any unbalanced cable, like RCA-to-RCA - you might pick up some serious hum. Try it - it's cheap - but if the hum bothers you, you may need to resort to more expensive measures. A well-shielded cable will reduce the problem but not eliminate it.
