Does anyone know if it is possible to directly play movies that have a DD+ audio, but not the AC3 one?
I guess it would be possible to use Windows tools to split the audio part transcode it to AC3 and mux it together again. But that is a pain and might introduce unsyncs..

Does at least anyone know how I could pass the DD+ stream to my surround system?

For those that were looking for the same thing. Eac3to works very well. Especially when you already have an nero 7 license. I just bought the HD-DVD plugin for it and installed the mkvToolNix tools.
With that setup you convert the dd+ sound to regular ac3 sound that you can then enjoy with your surround setup.
Of course you need to demux and mux your movie in case it is in mkv container or something.
Still no support on Mac for direct playing. But I guess it is just because it doesn't make sense.
