hi guys.

I am korean and my parents like to watch movies on my MBP.

However they are not fluent at understanding english so when they watch english films/drama they watch it with korean subtitles.

the subtitles are in .smi format. They used to run fine in a media player i used on windows. However when i tried running it with VLC media player on OS X, it comes up with things like ˆ¨∂∆ƒåå® instead of korean in the subtitles.

Does anyone know how to make VLC be able to play these subtitles in VLC or is there any other player that allows me to do this?

thanks in advance :)
