I have a library of youtube videos and various news feeds i downloaded from the internet and converted to .mp4 files. Since I've installed Mavericks on my 2012 iMac, I can't seem to open the videos. I've tried many different media player programs. If I click on the videos in Finder, I get the "Spinning Ball of Death". I tried using Handbrake to convert the files to m4v, but Finder won't even let me open the files in order to convert them.

Does anyone have any idea how I can view these movies in Mavericks? I've collected many clips over the past few years and would like to be able to access them.
